Size
The main feature of the Makita DHP484 is its compact size. This is the smallest combi drill Makita make, at only 182mm in length, this drill is excellent for jobs where space is tight and awkward, or those who want a compact combi drill as they are easier to maneuver. Power
Just because this is small in size, that does not mean it lacks power. It has the same blows per minute (30,000), and RPM (2,000) as its bigger brother the DHP481. It is capable of drilling 38mm in wood, 13mm in masonry and 13mm in steel. as you can see it has more than enough power for most jobs.
Adjustable settings
This combi drill has adjustable power settings. It has an Low/High settings for torque (30Nm/54Nm), blows per minute (0-7,500/0-30,000) and RPM (0-500/0-2,000)
It also has 21 adjustable torque setting for drill driver mode, this mode is for fastening and unfastening. If you are screwing into soft materials, too much torque can damage the material, with the adjustable torque settings you can have the right amount of torque to tighten the screw without damaging the material it is going into.
Hammer Mode
The Makita DHP484 18v brushless combi drill comes with hammer mode. This mode is excellent for drilling into masonry. With a max 30,000 blows per minute it will drill through most masonry with ease.
